Quarter 2 super guarantee contributions are to be received by funds (or the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House) no later than 28 January 2018. It is important this is paid on time to avoid the dreaded Superannuation Guarantee Charge (SGC).
The second quarter covers the months of October, November and December 2017.
The Super Guarantee remains at 9.5% of an employee’s ordinary time earnings (OTE)
Note: If you are manually calculating your obligations and had staff take holidays over the Christmas break, super must be calculated on annual leave (OTE) but not on annual leave loading (not OTE).
The Tax Office has an online Super Guarantee contributions calculator to help you out. You must know the total of each employee’s ordinary time earnings to use it successfully.
If you have any questions about your super obligations, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our office.
Regular reminders about super deadlines and other obligations are posted on our Facebook Page… be sure to follow us on Facebook for timely updates.
